It’s possible that Jeff Leist will find out today whether he has been indicted on a battery charge. The long time Muncie police officer was the subject of a grand jury review which started yesterday. The charges stem from an incident about a month ago during which Leist allegedly stuck a friend of his daughter’s with his police service revolver. The gun went off, but no one was shot. However, the victim, Robert McCallum, suffered a head injury as a result.
