There was an open house Thursday afternoon at Anderson’s Flagship Center. State Rep. Austin presented Chuck Staley, president and CEO of the Flagship, with a recertification during a multi-faceted ceremony. More than 100 people, including Mayor Kevin Smith, U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Indiana, and state Rep. Tim Lanane attended the event. Pence also officially recognized The Flagship as a qualifier for the Excellence in Community and Faith-Based Social Entrepreneurship award from the United States Department of Commerce.

After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County.
