Delaware County Prosecutor Mark McKinney said Thursday that he was considering a grand jury investigation in connection with the Nov. 6 city election. McKinney is quoted in the Star-Press as saying there are allegations from both sides. Republicans have accused Democrats, specifically Muncie City Councilman Monte Murphy, of violating electioneering laws with absentee voters and illegally collecting absentee ballots from voter homes in Precinct 18. Democrats have questioned whether Republicans working in the Delaware County Election Room willfully failed to perform their duties in an effort to undermine absentee votes in predominantly Democratic Precinct 46.
