The so-called “racinos” at the state’s two horse racing tracks seem to also be increasing betting and interest in betting on the horses. Many of those playing the slot machines also seem to be visiting the horse betting side of the tracks and orienting themselves on how to bet there as well. Rick Moore, director of racing at Anderson’s of Hoosier Park, spoke recently to the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.

It’s Groundhog Day and at 7:25 a.m., Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. According to lore, we’ll get six more weeks of winter. A side note: Punxsutawney Phil has a 39% accuracy rate.
After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
