They’re coming baaaack! Ball State students that is. About 6,000 students are expected to arrive tomorrow and Thursday. Muncie residents who want to avoid the worst of it should steer clear of roads such as McGalliard Road and Tillotson Avenue, said Gene Burton, director of public safety at Ball State. However, since students are arriving on a staggered schedule, it’s hoped the congestion won’t be too bad. Meanwhile, local merchants are looking forward to having students back, to spend money on everything from pizza to gasoline.

A Noblesville man who claims he was mistakenly arrested in Muncie has now filed suit against the city. Chad W. Bozell was in jail overnight. The South Madison Community Schools are reorganizing and reassigning students. The plan is to relocate 25 percent of Maple Ridge Elementary School students to Pendleton Elementary School. Various options are under consideration. They were the work of parents who met in three meetings in October and November to discuss redistricting.
