Anderson Pharmacist to be Sentenced Today

A former Anderson pharmacist will be sentenced later today on drug charges. Mark E. Lawson, of Atlanta, Ind. In a plea agreement with prosecutors, Lawson plead guilty to with dealing in a schedule IV controlled substance, a Class C felony. His attorney claims that Lawson became addicted to pain killers. He plans to ask for probation for his client at today’s sentencing hearing.

WLBC LAND SOLDIER KILLED IN IRAQ
09.09.10A soldier from Wells County has been killed in a firefight in Iraq. 26-year old Phillip Jenkins of Decatur was part of a security operation at an Iraqi army base when an Iraqi soldier opened fire on the Americans. Jenkins and another soldier were killed, and several others were wounded.
