A former Wal-Mart pharmacist got two years probation yesterday from a Madison County judge. Mark Lawson plead guilty to the charges on Monday. Lawson admitted he became addicted to painkillers originally prescribed for him by a doctor. Lawson was charged in dealing prescription medication. He also expressed remorse to the court. Lawson’s pharmacist license has already been suspended as a result of the charges.

After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County. The victim — whose name had not been released late Wednesday pending notification of relatives — was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn.
