Another Madison County vehicle motorcycle crash and this time it has resulted in the death of an Anderson attorney. Robert Cowles. He has died of injuries he suffered Saturday in a motorcycle accident near Lapel. and his wife Sally were going south on Indiana 13 when they struck an SUV getting ready to make a turn. Both the motorcycle passengers flew off the Harley-Davidson after the accident. Both were flown later to Indianapolis Methodist Hospital. The driver of the SUV, Angela Acker of Pendelton was slightly injured, and a child in her vehicle suffered no injuries due to being restrained. Cowles had served as a deputy prosecutor when Rodney Cummings was in office.

After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County.
