New equipment appears to be on the way for the Marion Fire Department. The City Council on Tuesday approved the department transfer $125,000 from salaries, overtime and protective clothing accounts to the department’s equipment account. Fire Chief Steve Gorrell said the new equipment will help the department get up to speed with National Fire Protection Association guidelines and suggestions. He hopes to purchase hoses, generators, extrication equipment and furnaces for two fire stations
