The Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce had its annual meeting Tuesday evening at the Horizon Convention Center, reviewing the past year in economic development and honoring local businesses and individuals. According to the Star-Press, the chamber’s Spirit of Small Business Award was given to Animal Medical Center, a Yorktown-area veterinary clinic that rebuilt and relocated after an Ind. 32 widening project displaced the business. The Community Impact Award was given to Jarden Home Brands, which in the past year moved its headquarters from downtown Muncie to Daleville,

After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County.
