Rate for Some Alex City Services Going Up

Both trash collection and water rates may soon be going up in Alexandria as the city deals with budget woes. According to Mayor Mayor Jack Woods, the city council is reviewing a proposal to increase the current trash collection rate from $8.05 to $9 per month In addition, a storm water services fee and a hydrant maintenance fee may be added onto each customer’s water bill.

Governor Signs Right-To-Work Into Law
02.02.12After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
Wednesday Night Crash Kills One
02.02.12A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County.
