A Noblesville man who claims he was mistakenly arrested in Muncie has now filed suit against the city. Chad W. Bozell was in jail overnight. He was arrested in November 2006 as a result of the Muncie City Court warrant, issued nearly a decade earlier. Bozell — a Ball State University graduate and former Elwood resident — was charged in City Court with false informing, a misdemeanor, in March 1995. In December 1995, Bozell pleaded guilty to the charge. Court records indicate he was fined $1, ordered to pay $123 in court costs, and placed on informal probation for 180 days. Eleven months later, on Nov. 7, 1996, court records indicate a warrant was erroneously issued for Bozell’s arrest.
