First Merchants Bank Merger Heads to Approval

First Merchants Bank has announced it has completed a merger. Lincoln Bank will combine with First Merchants Bank of Central Indiana in the 2nd quarter of 2009. After the merger, the banking company will have over $830 million in assets, and First Merchants, headquartered in Muncie, will serve the greater Indianapolis area with 24 banking centers in Madison, Hamilton, Johnson, Hendricks, Brown and Morgan counties.

Bank Robbery in Muncie
02.07.09An unidentified man robbed the Star Financial Bank in Lyndenbrook place yesterday at 9:30am. Police say the suspect is a six foot tall black male that weighed about 250 pounds. No suspect was found, but the police are checking the banks surveillance video for clues.
