The opening night of the Anderson Lions Family Festival was to be a celebration at its new location at the Anderson Speedway, but plunging temperatures, bursts of rain and strong gusts of wind caused many fairgoers to head back to the car. The Anderson Noon Lions Club chose to partner with the Anderson Speedway to give residents a completely new festival experience, and allowed festival organizers to offer racing events along with fair food and kid friendly rides.

After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County. The victim — whose name had not been released late Wednesday pending notification of relatives — was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn.
