43 year old Harold O. Afzal Jr., has pleaded guilty to a Class C felony charge for robbing a Discount Tobacco on July 21st 2008. When Afzal was in the store, he bought a piece of candy, and tried to grab money out of the open cash drawer, and was stopped by the cashier. The two men struggled and the cashier suffered a shoulder injury, while Afzal fled the store with a fistful of five dollar bills, but dropped the money while running away. The cashier later picked Afzal out of a police photo lineup. Afzal will be sentenced on August 3rd, and faces up to 20 year in prison.

After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County.
