The Delaware county commissioners and the Muncie mayor had planned to meet privately yesterday about 911 funding, but McShurley pulled out concerned that it might violate the state’s open meeting law. The Star Press reports that she did meet privately with commissioner Larry Bledsoe and Tim Hutson, county emergency management director, on Monday to discuss 911 finances and her interest in having a third party review the operation.

Muncie Police Officer Steve Baugh, who was wounded in the Friday shoot-out, has been released from IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and stopped by City Hall to say hello to fellow officers.
