A Yorktown man will stand trial for a second time in February on accusations he yanked false teeth from the mouth of an adversary. 64-year-old Robert Stahl was found guilty of battery by a Muncie judge last may. Because city court, with limited jurisdiction, is not a court of “record,” Stahl pursued an option of having the case brought to trial again, this time in Delaware circuit court. Stahl is accused of extracting the defendant‘s partial dental plate during a fight outside the man‘s home. In November 2007, Stahl pleaded guilty to pulling out — and then refusing to return — another man‘s full set of dentures.

A Madison County man is free from prison for the first time in 16 years. 42-year old Walter Goudy was released from the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility Thursday. A New Castle woman has been arrested on three charges of Social Security fraud. 49-year old Viola Whalen is accused of receiving benefit payments for one of her children whose father had died.
