Alexandria Police were tipped to the location of a Meth lab by an inadvertent 911 call –from the suspects themselves! Joseph F. Rastetter, II, 25, Kevin Ellis, 41, and Ashlee K. Pierce, 26, were arrested Sunday afternoon. Alexandria Police dispatch center received an “open” 911 call at approximately 2:15 p.m. Sunday from an inactive cell phone. Assuming an inactive cell phone still has a charged battery, pressing any button on the inactive phone automatically dials 911. Police believe Ellis may have accidentally pressed one of the buttons on the inactive phone. The dispatcher on duty did not speak to anyone during the call but could hear the suspects discussing the purchase of ingredients to make meth. The call lasted for several minutes. The dispatcher contacted AT&T. All three remain behind bars in the Madison County Jail.
