Why is today called Black Friday? It originated in Philadelphia in reference to the heavy shopping traffic on the day after Thanksgiving when retailers go from being in the red – posting a loss on the books – to being in the black – turning a profit.

Haiti Fundraiser Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church
12.03.10Members of the community are invited to attend a fundraiser dinner, Sunday from 11:30 to 1:30p, Fellowship Hall, Grace United Methodist Church in Hartford City. Members of the church will be serving a pork loin dinner with all the trimmings. Free will donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go to Haiti Relief.
