Some unwanted antlered visitors are making a home at an outdoor teaching laboratory for students owned by ball state university. The manager of Christy woods says deer are turning Christy woods into a zoo. John Taylor complains that the wild animals shouldn‘t be in Christy woods because they can damage the area. Taylor says male deer use their antlers as weapons and that they can be dangerous. He wants people to stop feeding the deer, because the food makes them want to stay.

Indiana’s unemployment rate for January is 9-point-7 percent, the same as the revised numbers for December. State department of workforce development commissioner Teresa Voors says the rate “appears to be holding relatively stable based on the slowing of job losses.” Indiana continues to have the lowest unemployment rate among neighboring states.
