The Muncie Action Plan needs you! Come to one of five public meetings today, tomorrow or Thursday. MITS will provide free bus service to all the public meeting locations. These meetings will begin with a full overview of the process and then break into small groups of 8 – 12. The final product – The Muncie Action Plan – will serve as a blueprint for the future and will include specific – and implementable – action steps for short term and mid-term projects. It’s Groundhog Day and at 7:25 a.m., Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. According to lore, we’ll get six more weeks of winter. A side note: Punxsutawney Phil has a 39% accuracy rate.
After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County. The victim — whose name had not been released late Wednesday pending notification of relatives — was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn.
