A Section Of The Monon Trail Will Be Closed to Pedestrian Traffic Until March

A section of the Monon Trail, just north of 96th Street to I-465, will be mostly closed to pedestrian traffic until March while a highway overpass is reconstructed. The rest of the Trail and Greenway shouldn’t be affected by the closing. It will be open during the holiday weekends of Dec. 24-27 and Dec. 31-Jan. 3.

WLBC LAND SOLDIER KILLED IN IRAQ
09.09.10A soldier from Wells County has been killed in a firefight in Iraq. 26-year old Phillip Jenkins of Decatur was part of a security operation at an Iraqi army base when an Iraqi soldier opened fire on the Americans. Jenkins and another soldier were killed, and several others were wounded.
