Electric Vehicle Manufacturer Possibly Coming To Elkhart

Elkhart County could become home to three electric vehicle manufacturers if a Norwegian company chooses northern Indiana as the site for a new factory. The company plans for the plant to at first produce 2,500 autos a year and have 415 workers by 2013.

January Unemployment Rate Out
11.03.10Indiana’s unemployment rate for January is 9-point-7 percent, the same as the revised numbers for December. State department of workforce development commissioner Teresa Voors says the rate “appears to be holding relatively stable based on the slowing of job losses.” Indiana continues to have the lowest unemployment rate among neighboring states.
