Indiana lawmakers are back to work this week, continuing negotiations on top legislative priorities. Legislators are meeting in conference committees to
discuss potential compromises on bills dealing with unemployment insurance
premiums, school funding flexibility and the potential merger of the state’s
two largest pension funds.

WLBC LAND SOLDIER KILLED IN IRAQ
09.09.10A soldier from Wells County has been killed in a firefight in Iraq. 26-year old Phillip Jenkins of Decatur was part of a security operation at an Iraqi army base when an Iraqi soldier opened fire on the Americans. Jenkins and another soldier were killed, and several others were wounded.
