The Madison County Council approved a $12.2 million tax abatement for a Lapel manufacturer Tuesday. Glass container manufacturer Owens-Brockway approached the council with the proposed abatement, hoping to purchase $12.2 million in new equipment for the Lapel plant located at 2481 S. Brookside Road.

Governor Signs Right-To-Work Into Law
02.02.12After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
