Muncie Man Sentenced for Murder

A man convicted of murdering a Muncie woman a year ago was given the maximum 65 year prison sentence Tuesday in Delaware circuit court. 41-year-old Robert A.C. Murphy was accused of killing 29-year-old Deborah Stafford in March 2009 after failing to collect a drug-related debt owed by her boyfriend. Murphy did not testify at his bench trial, but maintained DNA evidence did not link him to the crime scene.

Governor Signs Right-To-Work Into Law
02.02.12After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
Wednesday Night Crash Kills One
02.02.12A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County. The victim — whose name had not been released late Wednesday pending notification of relatives — was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn.
