Muncie Community Schools will keep middle school cross country, and track and field. A month ago both sports were on the chopping block, but Board members were worried how it would affect the healthy habits of students, and whether fewer students would then pursue those sports at the high school level. Instead, both schools will eliminate one coaching position for track.

Muncie police have apprehended the two individuals they believe are responsible for setting at least one of three recent arson fires in the southeast side Industry neighborhood. However, the two alleged arsonists probably won’t do any prison time – They’re both 10 years old. Both youngsters will likely be charged with arson in juvenile court.
