NO EXTRACURRICULAR FEES IN PENDLETON

A Madison County school system has done a “180” on a proposal to charge students fees for participating in extracurricular activities. Officials from the South Madison School Corporation had originally planned to consider charging high school athletes a $50 fee per sport beginning this fall. But school board members are shying away from the “pay to play” concept over concerns it may violate the state constitution.
