An Anderson man has pled guilty to a murder charge nearly 28 years after the killing. 47-year old Mark Allen Wisehart’s plea ends the need for a new trial in the 1982 stabbing of Marjorie Johnson. A federal appeals court overturned Wisehart’s original conviction last year and ordered a new trial. This week’s plea bargain includes a 75-year sentence, but with credit for time already served, Wisehart could be released from prison about 20 years from now.

After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County.
