NEW GUILTY PLEA IN ANDERSON MURDER

An Anderson man has pled guilty to a murder charge nearly 28 years after the killing. 47-year old Mark Allen Wisehart’s plea ends the need for a new trial in the 1982 stabbing of Marjorie Johnson. A federal appeals court overturned Wisehart’s original conviction last year and ordered a new trial. This week’s plea bargain includes a 75-year sentence, but with credit for time already served, Wisehart could be released from prison about 20 years from now.
