CANAN COMMONS GROUNDBREAKING

Ground has been broken for a new park at the south end of downtown Muncie. It’ll be called Canan Commons in honor of former Mayor Dan Canan. The development covers the entire block across from the downtown YMCA. It’ll include solar and wind powered lighting and water permeable pavement to protect the environment.

Governor Signs Right-To-Work Into Law
02.02.12After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
Wednesday Night Crash Kills One
02.02.12A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County. The victim — whose name had not been released late Wednesday pending notification of relatives — was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn.
