SPIRIT OF SOUTH GETS NEW DIRECTOR

There’s a new man in charge of one of Indiana’s most successful high school band programs. 26-year old Stephen Driscoll has been named the new band director for the “Spirit of South” at Muncie Southside High School. Driscoll is a 2002 Southside graduate who will also teach music there. Driscoll replaces longtime Southside director Joe Poio, who resigned last month.

Governor Signs Right-To-Work Into Law
02.02.12After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
Wednesday Night Crash Kills One
02.02.12A man was killed Wednesday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ind. 3 in southern Delaware County. The victim — whose name had not been released late Wednesday pending notification of relatives — was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn.
