A U.S. Senate candidate has used a Madison County company as a backdrop to call for greater energy independence. Republican Dan Coats toured the Poet Biorefining Ethanol plant in Alexandria on Tuesday and discussed what he calls his “Energy Solutions for Hoosiers” plan. Coats faces Democrat Brad Ellsworth in the November race for the seat now held by retiring Senator Evan Bayh.

Governor Signs Right-To-Work Into Law
02.02.12After a month of protests, walkouts and bitter debate, Indiana will become the 23rd right-to-work state. The Senate gave final approval to right-to-work 28-22, unchanged from the first vote on the bill last month. Governor Daniels signed the bill into law about three hours after the senate vote.
Wednesday Night Crash Kills One
