Many Inspections Before State Fair Opened Today

The Indiana State Fair opens today. But before the fair could open, inspectors had to make sure that the 46 rides on the midway are safe and ready to go. State Fire Marshal Jim Greeson says it takes two full days to go over the rides. He says the more complex the ride, the more time an inspection will take. The newest midway ride includes a 20-foot drop–it took nearly 8 hours to inspect.
