The Indiana Supreme Court has upheld a Portland woman’s murder conviction, stemming from her role in an ex-boyfriend’s brutal 2008 slaying. 38-year-old Tina Whiting was one of five defendants charged and convicted in the killing of Portland resident Shawn Buckner. In asking the Supreme Court to overturn a state appeals court ruling that upheld her murder conviction, Whiting suggested the a prospective juror’s comments should have led to her dismissal by Judge Brian Hutchison.

Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
