Change Of Venue Denied For Richmond Parents

Richmond parents charged with murder in the starvation death of their infant son will stand trial in Wayne County. A judge ruled this week against a change of venue motion for the trial of Joseph L. Pierson and Amy R. Hockett. They were arrested in February and charged with murder in the death of their nearly 4-month-old son, who was found unresponsive on Feb. 5 inside the couple’s home. A trial date has been set for 9 a.m. Oct. 29. The defendants have until Oct. 9 to file a plea agreement, if they so choose.
