Indiana Lottery Goes Private

Indiana’s lottery commission voted Wednesday to hire a private manager to operate the Hoosier Lottery in an effort to increase its profits. The commission voted 3-0 to give the contract to Rhode-Island-based GTECH. Karl Browning, the lottery’s executive director, say the deal will generate an additional $100 million a year in the first five years alone.
