Armed Robbery Near BSU Campus Sunday

Officials from Ball State University say an armed robbery occurred near the campus early Sunday morning. The incident happened near New York and Abbott Street, just two blocks off campus. A female victim says she was robbed and threatened with a handgun by five black men. The suspects were described as driving a black Lexus. The police do not have anyone in custody at this time. The university says they do not believe any students were involved in this incident. The school did send out a public safety notice warning students of the robbery. Officials are warning students to utilize the BSU’s escort service.
