Muncie police were investigating a fatal shooting in the city’s southeast side Industry neighborhood Monday night. Officers were called to the scene, just east of Pershing Drive in the 700 block of East Fifth Street, about 8:45 p.m. and found 33-year-old Jamel D. Barnes bleeding profusely, in the middle of the street.
Barnes was still alive was rushed to the hospital, but a Delaware County deputy coroner, says the victim was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are still investigating.
