A former Union City woman has been indicted on charges stemming from the burial and reburial of her reportedly stillborn child. 28-year-old Ana G. Monjes was charged with Neglect of a Dependent causing death, Failure to Report a Dead Body, Failure to File a Certificate of Death, and Failure to Secure a Permit for Disposal of a Body. Monjes has been arrested in Rhode Island at the home of her mother and is awaiting extradition. She will be returned to the Randolph County Jail and will be held on $50,000 bail. Monjes will also have to answer to allegations that she is undocumented and inside the United States illegally.

Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
