Fire Halts Production At Spartech Packaging

A fire Thursday at the Spartech Packaging Technology factory at Memorial Drive and Macedonia Avenue halted production while Muncie firefighters battled a blaze in the attic area of a building built in 1944. A recently-completed $19-million expansion, including a new 50,000-square-foot addition was spared. Officials on the scene said power went out at the plant earlier in the morning. When it was restored, employees noticed the fire.
