Former Ball State Basketball Coach Dies At 64

Rick Majerus, the jovial college basketball coach who served at Ball State from 1987 to 1989, and who led Utah to the 1998 NCAA final, died Saturday. A long time friend of the coach says he died of heart failure in a Los Angeles hospital. He was 64.

Staff Relations Manager Barb Cross says she‘s among numerous Red Cross staffers nationwide on the ground and assessing the needs.
