“Parks & Recreation” Sitcom Has Hoosier Ties

Yesterday we reported that the cast of the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation” was in Indy to shoot some scenes. It turns out there are a lot of Hoosier connections to the show.
Actor Rob Lowe’s father, “Chuck” Lowe, grew up in Anderson and Lowe’s grandparents for many years lived in Madison County. But it doesn’t stop there. Actor Jim O’Heir, who plays the often-befuddled Jerry Gergich, was a Rensselaer, Indiana disc jockey and Co-creator Mike Schur’s mother was born in Indiana and his wife went to school at Notre Dame.
