Police in Madison County are looking for a man who battered a woman trying to assist him. The woman says she had been assaulted by a man on County Road 400 North, when she had stopped to assist after she saw his truck parked on the side of the road. She says he attacked her without explanation when she got close, then returned to his truck and drove off. Investigators are looking for a white male, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, about 160 pounds. The truck was an older black pickup with a white bumper. If you have information, call Madison County dispatch at 642-0221.

Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
