Out-Of-County Special Prosecutor Is Appointed

An out-of-county prosecutor will decide what charges, if any, will be filed in connection with two early Sunday incidents at a downtown tavern that involved a current city police officer and a former police chief. Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings, a retired police officer, was appointed to evaluate what court documents referred to as “allegations of misdemeanor battery” against ex-MPD Chief Joe Winkle, now director of Delaware County’s 911 dispatch center and current officer Bret Elam.

INDOT Mandate To Help Accomodate Holiday Traffic
24.05.13Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
