Fishers Woman And Child Lucky To Be Alive

A Fishers woman and her young daughter are lucky to be alive after their car plunged into the icy waters of a Fishers lake Thursday. The 43-year-old woman and her five-year-old daughter swam safely to shore where they were assisted by bystanders. The woman told investigators she lost control on slush-covered pavement.

Staff Relations Manager Barb Cross says she‘s among numerous Red Cross staffers nationwide on the ground and assessing the needs.
