It’s the second bank robbery in Kokomo within 24 hours and the 3rd in a week.
Police say a man walked into the Kokomo Heritage Federal Credit Union yesterday morning with a semi-automatic handgun demanding money. After taking an undisclosed sum, the man was seen running west. Then yesterday afternoon, shortly before 5 p.m. the Regions Bank on South LaFountain Street was robbed. Police believe the same suspect is responsible for all three robberies. Two men are in jail on drug and theft charges in connection with the theft of trailers and motorcycles. Elwood police say the pair made off with two trailers, two Harley Davidson motorcycles valued at more than $100,000, an Oldsmobile stolen from Anderson, and two methamphetamine labs and other controlled substances.
