A Muncie man charged with murder went on trial this week, but not on charges related to that slaying. 25-year-old Terrence Jamaal Douglass is accused of twice selling cocaine to an informant for the Muncie Police Department’s narcotics unit in April 2010.
Douglass is also set to stand trial April 1 in the fatally shooting of Jamel Barnes.

Three people were rescued from the fast-moving waters of the White River, after the canoe they were riding in got stuck on an island in the shallow waters. A Muncie man was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after police say he was shot multiple times while in the Whitely neighborhood. 34-year-old Tyjuan McCraney suffered three gunshot wounds to his lower leg-area. His injuries were not believed to be immediately life threatening. Witnesses say a fight led to that shooting.
