A local historian has asked county officials to save the statues from the former Delaware County Courthouse in case they are displaced from their spots downtown.
James Lee, president of the Delaware County Historical Society, appeared at this week’s commissioners meeting and urged the county to preserve and prominently display the statues on the plaza of the Delaware County Building. Lee says “They’re pieces of art and they need to be protected.”

Contractors moved barrels and barricades along interstate work sites Friday to help accommodate Memorial Weekend traffic. The Indiana Department of Transportation mandated that there be no work in construction zones over the holiday weekend and Indiana State Police will be closely monitoring those sites.
