At the end of this school year, Anderson Community School Corp. will lose one of its longest tenured employees. Anderson High School Principal Lucinda McCord is retiring.
McCord has been principal of AHS since the fall of 2010, but an educator for 42 years. She began at Northside Middle School in 1971 and became an administrator in 1980.
Her last day with the corporation is slated for July 1.

A local member of the American Red Cross is helping in the tornado recovery effort Oklahoma City. Staff Relations Manager Barb Cross says she‘s among numerous Red Cross staffers nationwide on the ground and assessing the needs. Cross says she always feels personally blessed to be able to help those who are in trouble.
