One Dead/One In Custody in Near Lapel Shooting

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide near Lapel.
Sheriff Ron Richardson says one person has been found dead after authorities responded to a home in the 6400 block of West County Road 300 South, east of Lapel. One person was found dead in the home, one person has been taken into custody. Investigators and the coroner are at the scene. Richardson released no further information about the victim except to say the person is an adult.
